9th Psychodebate of the School of Psychology

The Psychodebates are back: join us on Wednesday, May 20, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 3T at the CLA, Via Venezia 16.
A new edition of the Psychodebates, organized by the School of Psychology of the University of Padua: an event open to everyone, offering the academic community the opportunity to collaborate and interact in a new and unconventional learning environment, in the frame of an academic debate.

Engaging with a controversial issue promotes self-reflection, critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking skills. Moreover, taking part in a debate encourages the audience to listen carefully to opposing arguments, question their own position, recognize the value of changing one's mind, and refine or expand their own arguments.
Two teams will face each other with arguments for and against the motion, aiming to persuade the audience through a clear and stimulating dialogue. This year's motion will be:
"In the age of AI, essays and theses are a pointless rituals."

A provocative topic designed to open up a reflection on the role of AI in academic writing and in the future of higher education.

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 3T at the CLA, Via Venezia 16. After the debate, there will be an aperitivo open to everyone, offering an informal opportunity to continue the conversation and meet other people from the community.

The event will be held in English:
